As bespoke furniture specialists, we know how important it is to get the details right and pride ourselves on taking the time to get to know our clients to help them choose the pieces that best suit their tastes. That’s why we always encourage prospective clients to book a complementary design consultation. This is an important first step in working together so if you’re thinking about getting in touch, here’s what you can expect from DAVIDSON.
Booking your appointment
There are all sorts of ways that you can get in touch to arrange your complementary design consultation. Our enquiry form on our website gives you the option to send us an email, or you can call us direct. Alternatively, you can stop by our showroom at the London Design Centre at any time for a walk in consultation. Or if you’re running short of time, you can arrange a date and a time to come back or arrange a member of our team to come to your private home, if based in London. You can also sign up to our newsletter to get regular updates on our work and get in touch.
Showroom or home?
Our first meeting is incredibly important – it’s how we get to know you, your style and goals. It also sets the tone for how we will work together – you’ll meet with one of our account managers who will look after you throughout the entire process. If you’re based in London, we can conduct that first consultation at your home. This allows us to get a feel for your existing interiors and the space we’ll be working in. However, we always encourage clients to come into the showroom for that first consultation as this gives you the chance to see and touch some of our pieces alongside samples of our materials and finishes.
A warm welcome
We want your consultation to be relaxed and enjoyable, so when you first arrive we’ll offer you a choice of refreshments, including a glass of our organic, low sugar champagne from our new partner Thomson & Scott. While you’re enjoying that, we’ll give you a tour of the showroom. This will give you a sense of scale and, crucially, a feel for the quality of our craftsmanship. We also dress some of our dining tables with beautiful tableware from Bonadea which is a company we highly recommend if you are looking to dress your Davidson dining table. At this point we’ll also share any forthcoming new collections with you.
Experts in our field
We’re proud of our reputation as industry leaders and champions of the finest British craftsmanship. Our work regularly wins industry awards and our decades of experience creating bespoke furniture means that we can offer you the very highest standards of design and technical advice. Some clients know exactly what they want while others are looking for inspiration. We’re adept at working with both. For those needing a little guidance, we can talk you through optimal sizes, styles and finishes based on your existing tastes and décor and technical expertise.
All of our standard pieces can be customised, and we regularly offer advice on sizes and finishing. If you are looking for a customised piece of furniture then a member of our design team will join you and your account manager to help you create a piece that is as unique as you are. Although we can’t display all 200+ pieces in our collection in our showroom, we can talk you through our complete portfolio of our work and show you a full range of finishes.
Flexible to your needs
Whether you’re looking for a single bespoke dining table or a fully fitted room, we’ll tailor our advice based on your home, colour scheme and sizes. Although not essential at this stage, some clients come to see us with a floor plan, which can help us quickly get a feel for the space. Wherever possible – and always with fitted furniture – we’ll follow up on your consultation with a site survey to take accurate measurements. Plans or surveys help us advise you on maximum dining table sizes, availability of sockets for desks, ceiling heights for tall cabinets and hallway space for consoles.
A tailored information pack
At the end of your design consultation we’ll create a tailored information pack for you to take away. This typically includes photographs, spec sheets and samples. We have a well-stocked storeroom and can often provide those samples on the day. However, if you’re looking for something specific, we will ask our workshop to create that for you – free of charge – and post it out to you.
You’ll want some time to get a feel for our samples within your own home and will probably have follow up questions. Our team will be on hand to answer those at your convenience. We’ll give you a courtesy call about a week after your design consultation just to check in and see how you’re getting on. Once you’re completely happy with your choices we’ll then work with you on the next steps to get a deposit confirmed and plans underway.
If you have any other questions about our complementary design consultation or would like to book an appointment, get in touch via our website or give us a call on +44 (0)207 751 5537.
