Terms & Conditions

DEPOSIT INVOICE, DRAWING APPROVAL AND SAMPLES

A 50% deposit is required and all drawings and pre-production documents are to be ‘signed-off’ before work can begin.

Any changes made to the quoted and agreed specification will be invoiced separately and additional production time may be required.

All furniture is made according to the signed-off drawings.

By signing off a drawing you are accepting the specification shown, therefore particular attention should be paid at this stage. Please contact DAVIDSON if you have any queries on the information shown on the drawings.

All furniture is made individually by hand using natural materials, and as a result, variations may occur. Samples may be supplied upon request once an order is confirmed, however please note that no two veneers are the same.

The production lead time only begins once all signed-off paperwork is in place.

he standard lead time is 10-14 weeks. Any shorter or longer lead time must be agreed in writing in advance.

VAT

VAT is payable on all orders in the UK. No VAT will be charged on goods shipped directly to countries outside of the EU on the provision that DAVIDSON receives export documentation from the shipping company within three months from the date of the balance invoice.

VAT is payable on sales to other EU countries unless the buyer is VAT registered. For this to be included on invoices, it is imperative that the VAT registration number is provided.

FABRIC

Although it is the client’s responsibility to ensure a fabric’s suitability, a fabric sample must still be supplied to DAVIDSON for approval.

All fabric supplied to DAVIDSON must be compliant with British Standard BS 5852 of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations Act 1988. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the chosen fabric has the correct Fire Certificate (DAVIDSON require a copy for file).

If the chosen fabric does not meet British Fire Safety standards, the fabric may need to be back coated or a fire retardant (FR) interliner may need to be applied. DAVIDSON can provide these services, which are chargeable.

GLASS TOPS

If ordering furniture with a glass top (to be supplied) it is important to be aware that the glass top should not be placed on the item until a period of 4 weeks has passed. This is to ensure that the chemical curing process in the lacquer has had the required amount of time to complete.

Whilst the item and its finish are perfectly safe to use from the date of delivery there are still subtle processes at work within the lacquer which make it stronger over time. If glass is placed on top of it too early then it may cause the lacquer to sweat. This in turn ends up damaging the finish resulting in the item being stripped and re-lacquered at the client’s expense.

DAVIDSON is happy to supply glass tops with furniture but we stress that it is important to adhere to the above advice to avoid any issues.

This caution only applies to glass that is being fully supported. An inset piece of glass will not have the same issues.

All glass supplied by DAVIDSON is toughened to British Standards regardless of its application. Davidson will not undertake to supply non-toughened glass in any of its projects as we feel it is important to provide the safest product at all times. It is possible to keep the Kitemark on the glass if requested, however as procedure we always remove it.

BALANCE INVOICE AND DELIVERY

All extras must be quoted for and accepted. These extras will be invoiced with the balance invoice or separately should the balance invoice have already been issued.

Delivery and installation is payable in addition to the quoted price and will be included on the balance invoice. The cost of delivery and installation will depend on the order value, location and accessibility. All items are delivered without wrapping.

A collection rather than a delivery can be arranged from our London Warehouse, however a hand-out fee of £95 will be charged on your balance invoice as well as delivery up to London. Please note that orders will be completely unwrapped and uncased. If wrapping is required for an order a quotation can be provided for this service.

Delivery dates will be scheduled in at the earliest possible slot upon receipt of the balance invoice been paid. The balance payment should be cleared at least seven days before delivery is required.

A representative for the client must be present to oversee delivery and installation of furniture and sign appropriate documentation.

Once goods have been delivered and signed for DAVIDSON cannot be held responsible for any damage to the goods thereafter.

Dedicated deliveries are not feasible unless charged accordingly.

Goods remain the property of DAVIDSON until full payment is received.

DAVIDSON do not have large storage facilities. If it is not possible to deliver the furniture to site within the agreed lead time, the client will need to arrange an alternative storage location which ideally will need to be humidity controlled and suitably wrapped for safe keeping. The cost of this will be borne by the client and not by DAVIDSON
